Our Training

ACL’s training program is the evolution of our advocacy and community capacity building efforts. We have seen that our community is hungry for change and ready to take action. Training is one of our paths to change. Here at the ACL, we believe that training is 10% about the facts and 90% about the worldview and energy we are sharing. Our trainings create a safe space for people to look inward, offer a viewpoint that plants compassion in their hearts, and energizes them to run out the door excited to reach for change in a community that welcomes our neighbors with disabilities.

for Self Advocates

Self Advocates are people with IDD who speak up for and exercise their civil & human rights. Whether the issue is public policy (like healthcare and housing) or is personal (like dating and getting a job), the ACL is listening and ready to offer trainings that mean something to you.

For Organizations

No matter if you work for disability services, victims' services, recreation centers, or somewhere in between, you will meet and interact with people with IDD. Our trainers cover a wide variety of topics and can talk with you to meet your organization's needs.

For Community

Not a self advocate or organization? Not a problem! People with IDD are at the grocery store, at the gym, on the bus, at the mall, and are an integral part of our community. Contact us to learn about joining an existing training or scheduling one for your group or neighborhood.
