Ways To give

Your support means the world to us at ACL, and every donation—no matter the size—makes a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD) in Boulder & Broomfield Counties.

When you give, you’re helping us promote and protect the rights of people with IDD to be included as a natural and integral part of community life. If you make a one-time, monthly recurring, or annual donation today, you will be supporting our year-round programming that fosters lifelong community. Thank you for standing with us and making a lasting impact.

One-time or recurring

Your contribution sends a powerful message: Systems must evolve to support individuals' unique needs, goals, and dreams. Your donation helps people to advocate for their rights, healthcare, and autonomy. Your investment amplifies the voices that were previously unheard. A recurring monthly contribution signals the value in a community where equity, justice, compassion, and belonging are the guidestones forging a pathway toward true community living for all.

"My husband and I choose to give a recurring monthly donation so that ACL can count on my ongoing support and continue to make a tremendous impact in the community I care deeply about." ~Tonya K.

Transferring Securities

A gift of securities (e.g. stocks, bonds, etc.) to ACL is a great way to make a win-win gift.

  1. Appreciated: Or initiating a direct to ACL transfer of securities and mutual funds that have increased in value and have been held for more than one year can reduce or even eliminate federal capital gains taxes. You may also be entitled to a federal income tax charitable deduction based on the fair market value of the securities at the time of the transfer.*

  2. Depreciated: If you sell depreciated stocks or bonds and donate the proceeds to ACL, you may be able to take a charitable deduction for the full value of the gift and take the capital loss on the asset.*

Your broker will need ACL’s legal name and EIN: 84-0637899

Donor Advised Funds

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible, tax-smart way to support the ACL.

  1. You contribute to your DAF through a sponsoring organization (such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or a community foundation).

  2. You receive an immediate tax deduction.

  3. You recommend grants from your fund to the ACL at your convenience!

Give Tax-Free from Your IRA

If you're 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free charitable contribution from your Traditional IRA through an IRA Rollover, or Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), allowing you to donate up to $108,000 (or $216,000 for married couples) annually, excluding the amount from your taxable income. You will want your distributions from your IRA to your charity(ies) to arrive before the December 31 deadline for the current tax year. These distributions can also count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and reduce your taxable income.

If you are at least 59½ years old, you can take a distribution and then make a gift from your IRA without penalty. If you itemize your deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the amount of your gift to ACL. We are happy to work with you and your advisor to help facilitate your gift.
