ACL’s Self Advocate group is part of a national self advocacy group. ACL’s Self Advocate group started because people with intellectual developmental disabilities were isolated and segregated, and our voices were not being heard.

Join us to:

  • Share stories and get to know other self advocates

  • Hear about community resources

  • Figure out how systems work

  • Learn about advocating for yourself

  • Meet self-advocates from across the state at quarterly meetings

  • Work with legislators & agencies

Meetings

Members meet on the third Wednesday of every month to talk about issues, rights, benefits, and fundraising. Together we brainstorm ideas, learn about the system from guest speakers, and go to the Capitol to educate decision-makers. ACL Advisors support this work. If you want to get involved, please contact us at happenings@aclboulder.org at (303)527-0888.

Please check our calendar for schedule changes.
